"It's not about merely
obtaining a seat at the table...it's about setting the menu." - Bishop Desmond Tutu
The Fordham Black and Hispanic MBA Association

Lincoln Center Campus of Fordham University in New York
City.
Choosing the right business management education for
you is the true challenge and can be a full-time job in
itself. We are committed to helping you make the most
educated decision possible. We strongly urge you to meet
with an admissions
representative, speak with a current
student, or sit in on a class during the admissions
process.
Be Prepared When
requesting transcripts, request an extra one for yourself.
Line
up your references early and follow up with them. Be sure
that they submit their recommendations to meet the deadlines.
Don’t
underestimate the usefulness of GMAT Preparation resources
available on-line and at your local bookstore. A couple
hours a week of GMAT Preparation can greatly benefit your
score.
Application
essays vary from school to school. Don’t expect one essay
to meet the needs of all applications. Be sure that your
essays answer the questions asked.
Be Positive
Application essays are a wonderful opportunity to explain
to an admissions committee why you are the perfect candidate
for their program. Use the essays to highlight academic
and career accomplishments, personal achievements, and
other unique qualities.
If there is an issue that you feel must be addressed in
the application, explain the issue and how you grew personally
as a result of the issue. If you did not perform to your
ability in undergraduate studies, for example, be sure
to indicate how you have compensated for a poor performance
and what sort of maturation process you have experienced
since.
